In order to provide better service, hassle-free journey and ensure passenger safety, the Metro Railway authority has decided to strengthen its security arrangements at Park Street, Maidan and Esplanade Metro stations on Christmas i.e., on December 25, 2021 and on New Year’s Eve i.e., on 31.12.2021. The Metro RPF is going to arrange extra deployment in these three stations in order to manage anticipated huge rush on these two days.
The Metro Railway authority is going to deploy Lady RPF teams (comprising Head Constables and Constables) in these stations to ensure safety and security of the ladies and children. One special team consisting of one Sub-inspector/Assistant Sub-inspector and four staff including two lady staff will remain present with arms at Park Street, Maidan and Esplanade Metro stations from 11.00 am to the end of the service hours on December 25 and 31, 2021. This team will remain in readiness to reach any of these three stations to tackle any emergency.
Another special team comprising one officer and four staff is going to be deployed with arms at Park Street Metro station on these two days to manage the rush. Adequate number of staff will be deployed in Park Street, Maidan and Esplanade stations to provide proper guidance to the commuters.
This apart, all safety measures will be taken. The Metro users have been requested by the Metro railway authority to follow Covid protocols and cooperate with the concerned authority and the co-passengers.
