“Toxics Link”, an Indian Environmental Research and Advocacy Organisation, help strengthen camping against toxic pollution,and provide cleaner alternatives.
Lead in paint is a global issue and many countries across the world phased out lead from paints completely.
Toxics Link has-been working on lead in paints issue in India since 2006,and has undertaken series of research study on the paints sold in Indian market.The study's also indicated that the small and medium scale enterprises in India have the ability to produce paints less than 90 ppm of lead.
In this context Toxics Link proposing regional level workshops for eastern region involving the key stakeholders like state pollution control board, research institution , Doctors,paint industry,NABL lavatories,CPRI , civil society's, and Media on 8th Feb 2019,at PARK Prime Kolkata West Bengal.
The objective are workshop are
1.To make aware the concerned stakeholders about lead in paint rules and 2. To discuss the challenges in implementation of the rules by the manufacturers.
