
The Contest purpose is to revive the food heritage of the Indian society, as the contestants prepared and brought old traditional cuisines which is fast disappearing from the plates and is being replaced by new age fusion cuisines, remarked Vayjayanti Pugalia, Organizing Spokesperson.
Over 40 contestants participated in the contest. All of them came in traditional ethnic wear & presented their cuisine to a panel of renowned personalities, who judged their preparations.
The judges included Chef Clement D’Cruze, Executive Chef- Hyatt Regency, Kolkata, Chef Shaun Kenworthy, Mr. Shahanshah Mirza, Kolkata’s popular Food Connoisseur and the great great grandson of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, Mr. Rahul Mohata, Co-Founder of ALT which has introduced a very healthy alternative to all the junk food one intakes and the Executive Director for BNI Kolkata, Ms Babeetta Sakxena, Founder of “Lets Give Back” initiative and the one organizing the contest in the national level & Ms. Bhavika Surana who looks after operations of Cafe 4/1, the popular new age veg joint at the crossing of Shakespeare Sarani- Camac Street.

"Sonali's Cubo" is an initiative of Vayjayanti Pugalia, who is curating the Kolkata edition. Vayjayanti is a well known social entrepreneur based in Kolkata.
The event sponsors were Big Boss Elevators, Neptune Tours and Travels, Bhiman Das, Nepcare and Cookpad. The venue partner was The Spring Club.
