Kolkata : Durga Puja—the UNESCO-recognized festival that transcends religion and culture—came alive across all Merlin Group housing complexes with unmatched fervour, devotion, and community spirit. Continuing its festive legacy, Merlin Group hosted the 7th edition of “Merlin Shera Pujo 2025 Award”, an initiative that celebrates the most creative and well-organised Pujas among Merlin’s residential communities across West Bengal.
The Puja Parikrama this year was graced by popular actors Swastika Dutta, Ranojoy Bishnu and Sauraseni Maitra, who joined members and officials of Merlin Group in visiting and judging 22 Merlin housing complexes spread across Kolkata, Howrah, and Hooghly. The actors interacted with residents, appreciated their creativity, and lauded the unity and enthusiasm that defined each complex’s celebrations.

The participating housing complexes included Merlin Legacy, Merlin Warden Lakeview, Merlin Iland, Merlin Crest, Merlin Jabakusum, Melin Iris, Merlin Oikyo, Merlin Uttara, Merlin Maximus, Merlin Waterfront, Merlin Gangotri, Merlin Aspire, Merlin 5th Avenue, Merlin Urvan, Merlin Sapphire, Merlin Emerald, Merlin Vasundhara, Merlin Twins, Merlin Laurel Garden, Merlin The One, Merlin Grove, and Merlin Verve.

Instituted in 2019, Merlin Shera Pujo is Merlin Group’s signature initiative to recognise and inspire Puja organising committees within its residential communities. The idea is to celebrate Durga Puja innovatively while strengthening the sense of belonging, togetherness, and creative expression among residents.

The rhythmic beats of the dhaak, the fragrance of dhunuchi, and the sight of women in traditional attire adorned with jewels, bindis, and sindoor created an enchanting festive ambience. The judges and Merlin officials were deeply moved by the devotion and joy that radiated from every pandal, marking a return to unrestrained celebration after the pandemic years.

Mr. Saket Mohta, Managing Director, Merlin Group, said, “We witnessed an over-enthusiastic convergence of pandal-hoppers and revellers this Durga Puja after a lull of two years. The UNESCO recognition of Durga Puja—the first in Asia—has added to the pride and celebration of every Kolkatan. We are delighted to see the incredible energy and joy among residents of our Merlin housing complexes across Kolkata, Howrah, and Hooghly. We will continue this tradition of Merlin Shera Pujo to celebrate togetherness and cultural excellence in the years to come.”
