Kolkata : SVF joins hand with Camellia Productions to bring Bengal’s favorite truth seeker Byomkesh Bakshi once again on the big screens to unravel a murder mystery. ‘Bishupal Bodh’ is an incomplete story of Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay which has been completed by Arindam Sil and Padmanabha Dasgupta for the movie. It will mark Arindam Sil’s fourth Byomkesh directorial and Abir Chatterjee will be seen in his very famous Byomkesh avatar. The film is Untitled yet.

It will be directed by Arindam Sil which makes it his fourth Byomkesh directorial. Abir Chatterjee Set in the tumultuous Naxalite uprising in Bengal in 1971, Byomkesh Bakshi gets involved in a story of vengeance when he decides to attend a play at the theatre and becomes witness to a crime unfolding on the center stage. As Byomkesh Bakshi digs deep into the case, it opens him to a tripartite story of love, betrayal and infidelity. And how the mystery is laid bare for Byomkesh to solve. The previous Byomkesh movies such as ‘Har Har Byomkesh’, ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’ and ‘Byomkesh Gowtro’ have been extremely successful. With his new Byomkesh film, he is looking forward to imbibe a political and cultural commentary on Bengal of 1971 in its narrative while Byomkesh inches closer to solve the case.

Commenting on his fourth Byomkesh directorial, Arindam Sil said, “From all the movies which I have made till now, the Byomkesh movies have always been very close to my heart. Above all, SVF has played an important part in making my Byomkesh films on a huge scale and I must say that the amazing journey of all the previous Byomkesh movies wouldn’t have been possible without them. It makes me excited that this time along with SVF, Camellia Productions will also be a part of our extraordinary journey to make the most unique Byomkesh film. I am immensely happy to present the fourth Byomkesh movie and as it is based on an incomplete story, completing it was the biggest challenge for Padmanabha and me. I hope that the audience will shower the same amount of love which I have received for my previous Byomkesh films. Also, a fact that SVF and Camellia getting together for movies is a welcome and good sign for Bengali film production.”

Along with Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar will once again portray the role of Satyabati and the very talented and versatile Suhotra Mukhopadhyay will be seen portraying the character of Byomkesh’s favorite companion Ajit. It will mark the second appearance of Suhotra Mukhopadhyay on the big screen after ‘The Eken’.

Arindam Sil’s latest Byomkesh movie will go on floors in May.
