Gaurav Tekriwal, the Founder of Vedic Maths Forum India and a phenomenon in the field of mathematics has just released yet another amazing read, “The Great Indian Mathematicians: 15 Pioneers Who Put Indian Mathematics on the World Map” that has been doing the rounds on every math enthusiast’s read list since its publication. Gaurav has been a global educator for the past 21 years and is also the author of ‘Maths Sutras from around the World’ and ‘Maths Sutra – The Art of Indian Speed Calculation’ published by Penguin and Random House India respectively. His latest book delves into India’s rich cultural heritage and aims at rediscovering a forgotten past of its mathematicians and their contributions to the world of mathematics. The book illuminates stories about how Aryabhata, Shakuntala Devi and Baudhayana and their contributions acted as stepping stones to build on further mathematical concepts.
According to Gaurav, math is usually associated with phobias across the world, and so much so that students start hating it, and this is where Vedic Maths fits in and helps create a different notion about math education around the globe. Compared to traditional methods, Vedic Math is faster, easier and more effective for speed calculations.
In a first ever effort to revolutionize math education in India, Gaurav Tekriwal, is currently carrying out a one-of-a-kind ‘Training of Trainers’ for teachers in collaboration with the Directorate of Education, UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu. Vedic Maths Forum India, founded by Gaurav Tekriwal has been selected to conduct this training for over 342 teachers of Primary and Secondary Classes in Vedic Mathematics in January 2022 under the Samagra Shiksha Project. The project is expected to impact 10 lakh students in the process and create a new horizon for Vedic Math in the country.
Understanding today’s world, where there is a much greater emphasis on STEM (Science, technology, engineering and math) subjects both in educational institutions as well as for immigration purposes, educator Gaurav Tekriwal has designed various courses for Competitive Examinations like SAT, CAT and GMAT along with prep courses for Banking/Maths Olympiads as well.
Especially in today’s Covid-infested world, Gaurav’s online technology assists any student living in any part of the world. Through television programs, videos and books Gaurav has taken the Vedic Maths System to over 4 million students and 4,500 teachers in India, South Africa, United States, Australia, UAE, Ghana and New Zealand! This is an amazing achievement unmatched by anyone. Gaurav is a seven time TED/TEDx Speaker. He has been named one of India's Top Young Visionaries by Indiafrica and the Ministry of External Affairs of India and has received numerous accolades and awards for his work.

He wishes to expand the horizon of math education across countries and truly believes that this age-old system of mathematics will be the key to overcome all kinds of struggles, numerical or otherwise.
