Dalmia Cement establishes strong bond with the state during its grandest festival, Durga Puja

The World’s greenest cement Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd. stood firm with this city’s old folks and reiterated their role as the front runner in structural strength as they brought joy, to the city of Mega structures this Durgapujo. On “Sasthi”, Tollygunge Old age home smiled as new faces of the Dalmia family distributed medical equipment for daily use, winter garments and other gifts.  The members of the home were taken to the Dalmia Puja celebration event at a city hotel and were felicitated during the celebrations. The members were treated to dance-drama, “Mahishasurmordini” enacted by employees of Dalmia Cement. The team of 30 senior citizens aged between 70 - 90 years shook a leg with the Dandiya team, giggled and displayed their youthfulness and love for the goddess during the dhunuchidance. They were also taken to Puja pandals to experience the actual feel of Durgapuja.

Dalmia Cement reiterated the importance of safety of public life by introducing a new award called "SurokkharPuroskhar". The primary objective being to create awareness about importance of safety in public life and to ensure safety of lakhs of people visiting pandals during puja days. The first edition of the award generated great interest among puja organisers and around 200 pandals participated in the contest. The top 12 pandals were honoured with the “SurokkharPuroskar”. The sturdiness of these pandals were evaluated by structural engineers & civil engineers from reputed institutions. All winners were awarded on the day of Dashami by representatives of Dalmia team.
