Kolkata : The celebration will begin from the Mahalaya day (observes as the beginning of the festive season) telecasting “Panch Nari Hatey Tarobari” — a powerful tribute to the strength and spirit of womanhood. Adding to the festive fervour are engaging shows like Pujor Adda, (Festive gossip), Annya Durga, (featuring those inspiring women), Bonedi Barir Puja,(the Durga puja of mansions & palaces) and the much-awaited Puja Competition, making this year’s line-up richer and more vibrant than ever.
Mahalaya Special: Panch Nari Hatey Torobari
TV9 Bangla kickstarts its festive programming with Panch Nari Hatey Torobari—a powerful Mahalaya special paying tribute to five extraordinary women who fought the “asuras” of society and emerged as icons of empowerment.
• Noti Binodini – pioneering actress, writer, and theatre personality.
• Mahasweta Devi – celebrated writer, poet, novelist, and reformer.
• Suchitra Mitra – legendary Rabindrasangeet exponent.
• Sudipta Sengupta – the first Indian woman to set foot in Antarctica, mountaineer and geologist.
• Jhulan Goswami – India’s first woman cricketing legend and pace bowler.
This special programme will be aired on 21st Sep, from 7am to 9pm on TV9 Bangla.
Pujor Adda
Adda is timeless, but during Puja it becomes inseparable from the celebrations. Pujor Adda brings together Bengal’s favourite stars—Abir Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, Anirban Chakraborty, Darshana Banik, Bibriti Chatterjee, Srabanti Chatterjee, Manshi Sinha, Mimi Dutta, Srijit Mukherji, and more—who will share their festive spirit and talk about upcoming releases like Raktabeej 2, Devi Chaudhurani, Indu 3 and Feluda.
This show can be watched from Sasthi to Nabami (28th Sept - 1st Oct) from 3:30pm to 4pm
Bonedi Barir Pujo
A soulful journey into Bengal’s heritage, Bonedi Barir Pujo showcases the grandeur of Durga Puja celebrations in aristocratic mansions and Rajbaris across the state. These timeless traditions, passed down through generations, narrate tales of history, culture, and devotion—blended with the rustic charm and beauty of Bengal.
It will be telecast on TV9 Bangla from 22nd - 26th Sept, 3:30pm onwards.
Annya Durga
Annya Durga honours real-life heroines who embody strength and transformation. Among them are:
• A fearless woman from the tea gardens of Dooars, who fought child trafficking, taught karate to empower girls, and encouraged education for school dropouts.
• Shanti Sabar of Purulia, a woman from the Sabar tribal community, whose determination to educate underprivileged children became a symbol of resilience and hope.
These inspiring stories reflect courage, determination, and grace—making Annya Durga a must-watch tribute to the indomitable spirit of women. You can watch the episodes from 23rd - 27th Sept from 11:30am to 12 pm
