Kolkata : The Military Training Area at Fort William, Kolkata, witnessed a grand celebration as the Indian Army’s Eastern Command hosted the 53rd Vijay Diwas on 16th December 2024. Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Sushri Mamata Banerjee, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, alongside Lt Gen Ram Chander Tiwari, UYSM, AVSM, SM, GOC-in-C Eastern Command, and other senior dignitaries.
Open to the public, the event drew massive crowds, showcasing the Indian Army's extraordinary skills and expertise. Highlights included a stunning Fly Past by Army Aviators, precision Sky Diving by the Army Adventure Wing, and an equestrian display featuring tent pegging and standing salutes by Army riders. Combat demonstrations, robotic mule showcases, and micro-light aircraft performances captivated the audience, while traditional Kalari Payattu, Bhangra dances, and an Army Band performance added cultural flair.
The event provided an inspiring glimpse into the exceptional capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces, leaving spectators in awe.
