The Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata proudly celebrated the First Convocation Ceremony

 

Kolkata : The Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata proudly celebrated the First Convocation Ceremony for the Autonomous batch of students graduated in the year of 2022 at CII Hall, IEM Management House on 28 th of June, 2023. Continuing a rich tradition, the in-person convocation ceremony included the National Anthem, Invocation Song, organ music, convocation speakers, hoods and gowns for students, staff, faculty, alumni and Academic Dignitaries.

The First Convocation ceremony was inaugurated by lighting the Ceremonial lamp and began with Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of IEM’s procession that included President Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Dr. Sajal Dasgupta, Vice Chancellor, UEM, Director, IEM, Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Dr. Debika Bhattacharyya, Controller of Examination, IEM, Governing Body Members of IEM and Graduating students. The Chief Guest was Mr. Debashis Sen, Managing Director, WBHIDCO Ltd and Guest of Special Honour was Dr. Indranil Mukherjee, VC MAKAUT.

This was followed by the convocation speech given by Chief Guest where he praised the Institute a lot on achieving and creating young managers with hard-work, dedication and dynamic steering towards their goals. Then Honorable VC, MAKAUT Dr. Indranil Mukherjee stated that the graduates would be the ambassadors of MAKAUT University with the ability to inspire change and a point of reference for the future Graduates.

After that Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President, IEM provided a broad sketch of the challenges faced by IEM owing to the COVID pandemic, efforts toward academic renewal and expansion. Thereafter Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director, IEM mentioned how the Institute has shown tremendous growth in terms of achieving Academic Excellence in the Management and Technical education, Its unparalleled commitment towards imparting value-based education with a well-built academic delivery system for which IEM has won many accolades at the National as well as International levels. Thereafter, Other Dignitaries congratulated the students for their achievements and presented a brief overview of the Institute's report through the year 2019-2022. The Speech of all dignitaries was followed by awarding the Degree Certificates to the Students present in the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, graduates from Convocation Hall headed towards the Photographic zone. They were encouraged to take photos with their friends and Professors.

The Convocation was declared closed by conferring the best wishes to the First Autonomous Batch of 2022.
