Following the grand success of  ‘PAAT RANI’, Chaitali Das of Rakshak Foundation will be handing it over to WBTC, in a small ceremony. This association with WBTC has been very significant and shall go down in the history of trams in Kolkata, as a cherished memory.

The beginning of the World Heritage Week will be observed on this occasion with officials of WBTC and dignitaries hailing from the royal lineage of Kolkata’s Bonedi baris, sharing their thoughts about keeping the heritage of this city alive.

PAAT RANI was conceptualized as a gift to Kolkata, combining the Jute of Bengal and the Tram of Kolkata in a delightful way.

The overwhelming response and enthusiasm that the people have shown for PAAT RANI has been heart-warming. Some of the guests have taken the ride twice, even in this short period of time and there are numerous requests for the extension.

In these seven days, we have witnessed stories of delight and joy develop in PAAT RANI, which our guests have shared with us. We are flooded with photographs of happy memories and useful suggestions from them as they express their wish that PAAT RANI continues its run and delights the city in the time ahead. All these valuable inputs will be compiled in a fascinating e-book that will be developed by us to mark this landmark project and released shortly. The program was graced by Sri Rajanvir Singh Kapur (IAS) as chief guest and Janab Sahenshah Mirza, Sri Sandeep Naulakha, Smt Suchi Kler, Sri Brotindra Mullick as special guests
